This story was recently released in EMHS’ 2016 Annual Report. EMHS and it’s hospitals, Acadia Hospital and Eastern Maine Medical Center, are members of the Community Health Leadership Board. This video tells the story of the current efforts underway in Maine to confront the crisis of opiate addiction in Maine.

Ryan’s personal story isn’t about how he got lost in the depths of opioid use disorder but an honest account of his challenges and triumphs in treatment and recovery, the support of his family, the love for his daughter, and his focus on getting an education and starting a new job.

The Penobscot County Sheriff’s Department and the Bangor Police Department will host a prescription take-back event on site. Please bring any unused prescriptions you wish to safely dispose of.
